Nickel Alloys
Nickel alloys are used in wide variety of applications the most of which involves corrosion resistance or heat resistance applications. Nickel is a versatile element and will alloy with most metals and offers superior corrosion resistance in reducing environments along with reasonable heat transfer characteristics. The nickel-chromium-iron alloys such as alloy C-22 and C-276 are the most common used in pharmaceutical applications, although many other nickel based alloys are making their way into commercial applications as well.
A key factor when considering nickel alloys for use is the surface finish requirements. These alloys can be difficult to mechanically polish and their resistant to corrosion applications can make electropolishing a challenge. UltraClean Electropolish Inc. has a wide array of experience in both mechanically and electropolishing higher alloys achieving surface requirements as set forth in industry standards.
